God made Himself a man, in the person of His Son Jesus Christ, and took the punishment for OUR sins upon Himself on a cross. The only way we can be made right with God, and in turn be with Him for Eternity is through Christ.

"Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." (John 3:18)

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
